One More Week Until Vacation

November 5th, 2009

I’ve only got one more week until I have about 3 weeks off of work for vacation. I won’t be relaxing by any stretch of the imagination but at least I won’t have to do my day job for a bit. After completing a half-ironman in Arizona, completing 2 major application upgrades from design to implementation, and buying a house all in the last 2 weeks, I’ll take any small break I can get.

I finally came to my senses about making the Super SEAL the first triathlon I would be competing in. Swimming one mile, biking twenty-five miles, and running six miles seemed to be a bit much when I added in my total lack of experience in this type of event. The solution was to sign up for a shorter but earlier event to get my feet wet. That fixed the “total” portion of my “total lack of experience” but now I’m signed up for two triathlons instead of one.
